A visit to the Ohlone tribe!

The Ohlones were a unique tribe, and I was one of them now. People were catching fish, mussels, acorns, and elk.

I thought of something I learned about the tribe. I remember our teacher told us that after California entered into the Union in 1850, the US government fought against the Ohlone people. I have to get home before California entered into the Union.

I quickly told the Ohlone people all the facts I know. I encouraged the people. I also helped them make spears and nets. They offered me shelter and food. They made lots of bread, along with some raisins and supplementary fruits.

After a few months, I found a piece of paper under my pillow. It stated: You have to solve this riddle to get back to your original hometown.

I am part of the Ohlone tribe,

I live in the waters.

I am not a mammal,

Guess who I am!

One of the Ohlones told me that they recognize that riddle. They think the  answer was "Salmon!"

It was worth a shot, so I wrote on the paper using rocks: Salmon. The scroll glowed and shone the answer salmon on the writing. I was correct! A portal lit up behind me, but just when I was about to run in, I looked back. And said goodbye to every one of the Ohlones, especially the one that helped me with the riddle.

When I went back to my house, I wrote down this adventurous diary.
