Escape room: Prison break!

My friend Sophia and I went to the Red Door escape room in Hillsdale mall! It was the first time that Sophia had played an escape room game.  A game tourist named Gabi helped guide us through the rules. After we watched a few background videos, we went inside the room. We were playing "Prison Break," a series of rooms that are part of a "prison" that we will have to escape. There was a hint button, and we could use that three times. For every extra we use, we add 3 minutes.  When we went into the room, there were two huge items: A toilet and a table. There was a mat on the stone table with a weird symbol on it. Under the table was a medium-sized black box with a combination lock securing it. "So, we need to find four numbers for this answer," Sophia said. There was also a rock inscribed: "for wa rd s/asH." There were tons of tally marks on the wall, four numbers, and forwarding slashes! Sophia entered the code 7946 and the box opened! It included...

Mystery Test!!!

By far are three mysteries that I have chosen to write about, see if you can crack them all! Write your answers and a reasonable explanation in the comments below! I will reply to you with your score. Good luck! P.S. if you have trouble, check the end! (But don't hurry to go there... just yet.) #1. One morning in a circle house, the owner got murdered. There were three suspects, the chef, the maid, and the painter. The chef said, "I was preparing for today's breakfast! I was about to pour the milk for the cereal." The maid said calmly, "I was sweeping the corners of the house." The painter said, "I was painting a beautiful landscape with my brand-new canvas! I was going to hang it in the living room..." Who is the murderer?  #2. One night in an apartment, the keys to the main lot were stolen. The apartment manager soon went to three people that were not in their rooms. 425, 903, and the last house, 999. Mary, which owned house 425, said assertively...

Would you want to transform into a bird for times?

Image
I would want to transform into a bird sometimes. Being a bird has some advantages I would like to have.  As a bird, I can fly. I had a desire when I was tiny to fly like a magic fairy! I covet watching aspects of buildings and other things from above. If I were a hummingbird or a songbird, I would hang around my house and get pollen or sing songs. My dad likes hummingbirds, and my mom likes to take pictures of songbirds in the yard. I also enjoy music, so if I choose between a songbird and a hummingbird, I would prefer to be a songbird. Of course, I would also enjoy being a hummingbird. They fly super fast and can stay in the air without moving.  Birds spread seeds, and that is good for the environment. I like to be a person that helps the environment fill will green plants and trees, elegant and bright-colored flowers, and other particular sprout types. The most that I desire from birds is their feathers.  Most birds can stay cool in the summer and warm in the...

An object in my house that pays special significance to me is...

Image
The object in my home that has special significance to me is the piano. It is important to me for many reasons.  First, I like my piano because it is special and unique. It is a full 88 keys piano rather than a keyboard that has fewer than 66 keys. There is so much to explore. Its texture in sound is different than any other piano. It is extraordinary, and I nearly play it every day. Experimenting with making melodies on the piano is very fun. I like to enhance a composition of music by myself. I play around with harmonies and different sheet music.  Next, pianos are soothing, and you can practice them at all times. You could make the piano sound like a bird whispering in the forest, or you can make it sound like a massive whale in the deep of the ocean.  I remember the weekend I got this piano. We just moved to a new house and decided to get a real piano instead of the electric one we already have at home. We went to the store to pick the piano, and I carefully picked th...

Would you rather turn into a dog or a cat?

Image
Would you rather turn into a flexible and adorable cat or a mature and handsome dog? Here are some facts and personal opinions that you can refer to when you make your decision. First of all, cats are very nimble and can jump on sofas and other obstacles relatively quickly. Being very flexible and active can turn into an advantage when other animals try to bite you. For instance, when a dog is trying to bite you, you can immediately jump on a safe surface, ensure that the dog cannot reach you, and WALA! You are safe.  Another fact is that a cat is much more graceful than a dog. Cats can lay down in the sun all day and roll on their owner's lap. But if you were a dog, you would hop in your cage. Did you know that a cat mostly lands on its feet? Even if you fall from a high surface, there is a good chance that you will land on your feet, but if you were a dog, you won't. Now... after a bit of purrr-fect facts, let us move on to the dog facts! Dogs are loyal, handsome, and brave. ...

Design your dream house. Describe it. What features does it have?

Image
If I could design my own dream house, I would want my dream house to be very unattractive outside. First of all, if I made it very attractive and polished, people would often walk around the house, and robbers or thieves would want to steal things from inside the house. I would make it into a house that looks very simple and small. However, on the inside, it would be very pleasing.  Just as you enter the small one-story entrance, there would be an elevator leading to all five underground floors. In total, the house would have seven main rooms, one bedroom, a music room, and an arcade room on these five underground floors. There would be a few other rooms for learning and other accessibilities, like the study room. There would be a room where I grow spices and vegetables, like a tiny greenhouse! I would also grow fruits like tomatoes, apples, bananas, and strawberries as well. I would need to grow smaller fruit trees in the greenhouse and larger ones in other places of my house. One...

Would you prefer to live in a very rural area, in a town, or in a city? Explain your reasons why.

Image
I prefer to live in a rural area. First of all, living in a rural area allows me and my family to enjoy having fun with nature. I can do much more activities in rural areas than in cities. For example, I can grow lots of vegetables and fruits on my farm and raise farm animals.  Another reason I would want to live in a very rural area because people would need to have more responsibility and self-discipline to live in a rural area rather than a city when waiters help you get lunch, water e.g.  Rural areas can train your perseverance and gratefulness. To be grateful is very important to the world. If everyone is greedy, then this world would have nothing. Nobody will be happy to give or donate some of their belongings. This way, trash will increase, and money will grow, and there will be more homeless because of the greedy people. Farm areas are a lot more natural because there are fewer cars and more trees and nature. Being in Rural areas also will let me feel that I am free. E...

What is my favorite candy?

Image
My favorite type of candy is Sour Patch Kids.  Let me first tell you about Sour Patch Kids. They were originally invented by Frank Galatolie in the early 1970s. In the late 1970s, Cadbury and the $meera Blyton Licorice formed a Candy Company in Hamilton, Ontario, and Canada, to produce Sour Patch Kids. The motto of Sour Patch Kids was invented in 1985. When they invented that, Sour Patch Kids hit the U.S. market, and they quickly became a success. Now I will tell you why I like this type of sour candy. First of all, Sour Patch Kids are both sour and sweet. This way, I can taste both sour and sweet! (Although I prefer sour more). This includes a part of their motto: "Sour, then sweet!" It has an excellent balance between sour and sweet. That is why I like it. Another fact about them is that they are soft and chewy. Being soft and chewy is especially helpful for eating it during a movie because you won’t make any noise with your chewing. You can enjoy a fun snack while not havi...

What is something that I would be scared to try? Why?

Image
I am afraid of any variety of insects or bugs. Insects are cool, but it is not a very wise decision if you want to meet them.  First of all, some bugs are poisonous. When bugs are venomous, they get aggressive and tend to attack. When bugs start to attack, it can cause severe damage. They can bite you hard when you touch, attack, kill, or provoke them. Some bugs might look cute, but they are very dangerous too. While some people might like the tarantula, because of its furry skin, some might not. The tarantula is venomous. Although a tarantula rarely bites, when it bites, it releases a type of venom, like a bee’s sting. When it does that, it is weak, but it is very painful.  While some bugs can only bite you a bit, others can kill you! For example, the black widow is a type of venomous insect. They can kill you when they use their venomous bite.  Bugs are quick. Crawling or running fast can come to use when people try to spot it when it does damage. People will notice the...

If I were trapped in a snowglobe...

Image
It was Christmas eve, and I was walking down the street to invite my friend Ange to my Christmas party. SMASH! I bonked in a transparent barrier. Why would there be a transparent barrier? Unless I accidentally went in the wrong way. The snow was everywhere! Since when did Foster City have snow? Where am I? I pulled out my phone, hanging in my pocket, and opened Google Maps. I searched: Anges House. But it appears that I AM AT my friend's house. Why would Ange's house have snow? My phone must have a problem, I said. Then, my phone died. See? My phone has a problem. I need to go to the repair shop now. I said. On my way to the repair shop, I saw people preparing for Christmas, but they froze.  I asked, hello sir, do you know what town or city this is? He did not move. I asked again. I shook the man. SNAP! The man broke into pieces. Tiny pieces of clay fell on the ground. I am in a snow globe! I tried to get out of the globe, I first tried to break it, but it was too heavy, I li...

Things I would change to the world to make it a better place

Image
I would change elements in the world to make it a better place.  First, I would change the environment. I will stop throwing garbage in the oceans and tell people to make them into tiny crafts that can organize their desk or workplace. I would demand people to grow more trees and not just cut them. In science class, we learned about the Maui statues on Easter Island, but the Island people cut so many trees to move the statue and to cook. They do not have enough resources to eat, cook, boil, and heat their homes. That will cause the island people to die. Many  people fought for the last trees on Easter Island. I would also use less paper because our forests are being cut down very fast (just like Easter Island). We could grow trees immediately and start using small amounts of paper.  The second thing I would change is to let everybody be kind and fair. Being kind and equal can help people be more like a team or family, not enemies. If people become enemies, a war will ...

Things that I like most about my school

Image
I go to the San Mateo Foster City School District (SMFCSD). The idea that I like the most about my school is that they have a daily schedule. The students will receive a model of the daily schedules before-hand so they can prepare for the next lesson. Providing a copy of the daily schedules before-hand will be more effective since we are doing distance learning, but it will be beneficial even when we are in school. The second thing I admire about my school is that they don't assign too little homework or too much homework. They provide specifically the right amount of education every day. So the students won't be too exhausted or over entertaining. The other thing I like about SMFCSD is that the programs include fun things! Learning and play at the same time could help the students want to learn more since it is playing (but learning! (So confusing!)). For me, I enjoy doing this. Like typing.com! Typing.com has many computer typing games. But while you think you are playing gam...

The Writing of John Burroughs "excerpt writing" (by Jeffrey Fuerst)

Image
Jeffrey Fuerst talks about John Burroughs in early life. Jeffrey Fuerst goes on to share some of Burroughs's writing and tells about him becoming an author. Jeffrey Fuerst explains that John Burroughs grew up on a farm in Delaware County, New York. After John Burroughs is done with his course, he went to a special place he later called “Boyhood Rock.” Jeffrey Fuerst makes examples of Burroughs’s descriptive writing by adding excerpts from John Burroughs. Jeffrey then gives an example of John Burroughs personification. Jeffrey Fuerst starts telling things that a good storyteller must do. Then, he went on by adding one of the excerpts that Burroughs wrote. Jeffrey Fuerst states that Burroughs was a lifelong nature writer who kept his eyes, ears, and heart open. Then Jeffrey stated one of Burroughs's writing when he wrote towards the end of his life, “The summit of the Years”.

Autumn

Image
Leaves become red and yellow as if someone painted on it. I see a tall tree with rough, hard bark. The leaves sway as the wind blow. I see unusual, red, spiky roses that I like to grow in my garden. I see birds playing, like me, playing with my friends. I hear people in the apartment, opening the garage. I also listen to the leaves that were there in the middle of summer. The autumn leaves there are falling from trees that turned yellow, orange, and red as if someone painted on the leaves on the tree. I smell Aloe, which smelled like grass that we mowed. I smell my backyard apples, refreshing as mint. I tasted my apple. They were as sweet as a piece of chocolate in the middle of Candyland. I tasted my oranges. It was refreshing as being in the fridge in the middle of the summer. I feel the rough, caramel tree bark in the front of my house. I touched the soft autumn leaves that stood in a pile on the sidewalk. I jumped in and laughed, like an otter in the ocean. I stepped on grass, shiv...

What is the best pet? (for me/I think)

Image
I think the best pet in the world should be a dog. Here are some things I think that make a dog the best pet. First of all, dogs could protect you. If you are feeling unsafe, a dog can protect you from other people. If someone or something is not being nice to you, a dog can bark or bite the person/thing. When you are bored, a dog can play with you. For example, if you want to play ball with someone, you could throw a ball to the dog and play with him/her. I often get bored, so I frequently play with my little puppy. A dog can also get trained to do things you say to do. When a dog gets good enough to do whatever you say to do, it can help you do more things than just playing and protecting you. Dogs can also help you get groceries, heavy bags, move certain items, and more. Dogs can help you find things. If you are looking for a missing jacket, let the dog sniff it out! (If the dog knows the scent) Dogs can help you find many objects. Dogs can also help the world. Instead of throwing o...

Haunted (S1)

Image
The house at the edge of town has been abandoned for many years. It remained in my apartment for a long time. No one mentioned it, and the house just sat there alone. People have different opinions about the home. Some people did not care, and others looked scared as if the house is coming to life.  It was fall break, and I saw the old house that had been abandoned while walking with my friends. I assumed that it must be the old house at the edge of the town that had been abandoned for many years. Before I came to see the house, I thought it would not be scary at all, but after I saw it, I was quite scared.  I opened the door and crawled around the house like I was a dog, sniffing for sausages. When I paid closer attention to the house, I see that there were spider cobwebs and old furniture everywhere. Because there was no air conditioning, my friends were getting hot. They wanted to drink some water. I said to wait, but they did not listen. When they went to get something to ...

My favorite season

Image
My favorite season of the year is the summer, as I mentioned in the previous essay ( https://unigirl77.blogspot.com/2020/07/my-favorite-month-of-year.html ) . I like the season of "Summer" because you can drink lots of lemonade and eat lots of watermelon. In the winter, you would not want to eat watermelon everyday or drink lemonade, you would only want to eat hot cocoa and sit near a fireplace. In spring, you would want to eat cherries because in spring, cherries are the cheapest. You would also want to go out for a walk to look at the amazing landscape. In the fall, you might want to go out, rake the leaves, and prepare for the winter. Another reason I like summer is because my birthday and Summer break are in it, so I could have a break right after my birthday. In the summer, there is great weather and you can go to all sorts of places in the summer. For example, water parks, beaches, the pool, and even amusement parks. If there is good weather, you can go anywhere, anyt...

Camping (A little Mountain Climbing)

Image
Mountain climbing is dangerous, but I would like to try it while camping on the main side.  If I want to go mountain climbing, I need to practice it. If I do not practice, then I would fall and hurt myself while experiencing the mountain view.  I will practice and practice until I think I will be safe to climb on a real mountain. When it was time to go camping, I packed some food for eating, some change, in case I needed to rent a cabin (if it is raining), and I packed the tent. I have attached the tent to my backpack and put in some toys and camera. Now that I am ready to go camping, I prepare for the things that I use for mountain climbing. I need to prepare the  hook for mountain climbing, the attachment, and the lock. I will wrap that up in a blanket because it might lacerate my other things. Before I got in the car, I started to think about bringing an axe to the campground to cut some trees and get some sticks to start a fire to warm myself, but I thought about recy...

Walking on the ceiling

Image
Today, I was waking up on the ceiling when I heard a "click" sound.   It all started on the weekends, I found a secret music box that had a picture of a person walking upsides down. "Wow, I wish I could walk upside down like the one in the picture", and that is how it got started. It was Monday, I started to walk to school, but when I got to the classroom, all the teachers and classmates said that I was walking on the ceiling. I examined the classroom and still did not believe that I was walking on the ceiling.   First of all, if I were walking on the ceiling, then gravity would not exist, and I would be weightless! If there is no gravity, everything will float, but my classmates said that only I was floating so it does not make sense. Second of all, if I could walk on the ceiling, what would happen to me if I were outside? Would I float into outer-space, or would I just stay the same?   But then, I realized that the music box had a picture of a person walking on th...

My New Water Plant in My Room

Image
Today, I moved a new water plant in my room, I am going to tell you about my new plant!  My plant's leaves are like a triangle shaped ball, it is rounded on the inside, but pointed on the outside. One of the leaves even looks likes a piece of cheese cake, when you spray water on the leaves and wait for a day, you could see that there are little white spots on it, because the water dried on the leaves.  The roots are super big and soft. When you touch it, it feels like you are touching a  piece  of sponge. The roots are also quite dirty because of the water. The water sucks in dirty germs so the roots will get dirty, but do not worry, it is just a common form of the plant.  Now I am going to tell you where the plant needs to be in order to survive. The plant has to be in water all times. Not like any plants, it does not need sunlight or soil. Instead, the plant needs to be soaked in water. If you do not want to water or take care of plants, then this plant ...
