Escape room: Prison break!

My friend Sophia and I went to the Red Door escape room in Hillsdale mall! It was the first time that Sophia had played an escape room game. 

A game tourist named Gabi helped guide us through the rules. After we watched a few background videos, we went inside the room. We were playing "Prison Break," a series of rooms that are part of a "prison" that we will have to escape. There was a hint button, and we could use that three times. For every extra we use, we add 3 minutes. 

When we went into the room, there were two huge items: A toilet and a table. There was a mat on the stone table with a weird symbol on it. Under the table was a medium-sized black box with a combination lock securing it. "So, we need to find four numbers for this answer," Sophia said. There was also a rock inscribed: "for wa rd s/asH." There were tons of tally marks on the wall, four numbers, and forwarding slashes! Sophia entered the code 7946 and the box opened! It included a long piece of rope tied securely onto a magnet. "Maybe we need to fish something out from this. Inside the toilet, there was a piece of paper. There was a paragraph on it (I forgot what it is since it was three days ago...) with the words bolded "first one."

The door opened behind us, leading to a hallway with a wrench on the wall. I picked up the wrench and saw a panel covering something. Sophia and I both used the wrench to twist open the board. It was a trapdoor tunnel! (No spoilers for codes, but there was a lock) We crawled inside and discovered a bunch of boxes. There was also what looked like an old-fashioned computer and some cabinets. (Also, no spoilers, so we just opened them all [wind up] >.<) We found four types of guns, and there were four slots for the guns to fit in on the wall. We placed all the guns correctly, and a cabinet opened and gave us an old CD tape. We placed the tape inside the player. CRASH! Suddenly a compartment on the roof opened and dropped several fake cockroaches. Sophia thought there were particular things about the cockroaches, but there were not. Gabi said it was just for fun. The compartment also dropped a key, which led us to the last room. But Sophia and I thought there was still more to explore because we have not gone into the cell across from ours, cell six. 

We opened the door, and there was a symbol on the wall and two hooks! I immediately grabbed the cloth we found in our first room and hung it on the two hooks. After staring at it for quite a long time, we pressed the hint button, and it read: "If you look at it sideways from the right, it spells out a terrifying word!" "Death!" Sophia exclaimed. " "Death" must be a code! 

In the last room, there were many boxes, and a box required a five-letter word as the code. "Death!" Inside the box was a key which led us to escape! Sophia pressed the finish button, and we got stickers. In the end, we took a picture with the guns from the fourth room. 

We went to Shake Shack for a scrumptious meal and went to Micheals for a reward. Sophia and I both picked an XL notebook. I got the Mixed Media, and Sophia picked the watercolor notebook.
